INFUSION OF WORLDSKILLS STANDARDS
Arising for Jamaica’s participation in WorldSkills Kazan 2019, a total of three Standards were developed in the following areas:
• Optoelectronics
• Mechatronics
• Mobile Robotics
Key partnerships were established with Studica, Vcom, and Chinese Taipei that lead to upskilling of fourteen Instructors and outfitting of the Mechatronics, Mobile Robotics and Optoelectronics laboratories at one of the Organization’s Centre of Excellence.
COMPETITION CHAMPIONS
Jamaica have so far won four (4) silver and one (1) Bronze medal in two Competitions held in Rio Brazil and Sau Paulo Brazil in the areas of Culinary Arts (cooking), Fashion Design Technology, Electrical Installation, Hairdressing and Welding
