About Kingston College Centenary Launch

Kingston College will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary on April 16, 2025. Our first Headmaster and Founder, the Rev. Percival William Gibson, led the school from 1925 to 1956. Rev. Gibson’s objective was “to provide an education based upon principles that will make for the development of character no less than of intellect”.

Kingston College currently has two campuses: The main campus is located at 2A North Street and is referred to as Clovelly Park. The second campus is the Melbourne Park campus which is located on Elliston Road. The Melbourne campus houses Grades 7 to 9 and also some 6th formers. A Mondo track and gym facility were installed at that campus a few years ago.

Kingston College Old Boys have, to date, produced four (4) Rhodes Scholars. At different junctures, the school has won all the major scholarships that are given in Jamaica.
KC, with eleven (11) titles, is on record as the winningest school in the annual School’s Challenge Quiz competition.

KC Chapel Choir, established in 1947 is world class.

KC was the first school to win the Football Triple Crown in 1964 and repeated in 1965. With 34 wins to date, the school has won the most Schoolboy Athletic Championships (Track and Field). It was also the first Jamaican school team to compete at the Penn Relays in 1964, winning the 4×100 Relay and placing second in the 4×400 Relay. In 1965, KC won both relays and in 1966, the school won the 4×100 for the third consecutive year.

We have dominated Table Tennis since it was introduced in the school system (Circa1960’s); countless Sunlight Cup (Cricket) victories and a number of old boys have represented Jamaica and the West Indies.
Kingston College is the first High School to wear a school tie as part of the uniform.
